BRAZETYTE® was created to satisfy the need for a standard line of versatile fittings compatible with thin wall stainless steel tubing and suitable for reliable permanent type assemblies.
MATERIAL
Over the years the use of the "Modern Metal" (stainless steel) has increased steadily. Its corrosion resistant qualities and high strength characteristics have inspired design engineers to specify stainless. Now with BRAZETYTE®, quality is available at reasonable cost.
APPLICATION
TRULY TUBULAR BRAZETYTE® fittings lend themselves ideally to industrial applications in the beverage, chemical, food, marine, medical, photogra-phy, refrigeration industries and many other areas.
ADVANTAGES
This new line of fittings, as its name implies, is fabricated from thin wall type 316L stainless steel tubing to provide maximum corrosion resistance with minimum bulk and weight.
All elbows incorporate smooth radius bends for maximum flow and minimum turbulence. Because BRAZETYTE® fittings utilize thin wall tubing, they are light in weight and provide larger tube inside dimensions for increased capacity and flow. These fittings afford a substitute for the present heavy machined fittings produced from bulky expensive forgings. BRAZETYTE®'s construction facilitates the use of thin wall tubing throughout the complete system.
Installation costs reduce, because BRAZETYTE®'s
fittings are easy to use. Special tools are not required and quick connections may be made utilizing standard processing.
BRAZETYTE® fittings are produced to mate with tube OD sizes. Varying tube wall thicknesses may be used depending upon
design parameters. Selection of the wall thickness used for fluid systems will generally be governed by pressure, flow and/or
velocity considerations. Thin wall stainless steel tubing in OD sizes provide increased flow with high strength.
VERSATILE
Versatility is provided through the combination styles offered. A tube system may be fabricated using soldering, brazing, welding, or bonding and in conjunction with the flare type union. Many combinations are available as standard items. Standard tube fitting configurations-Tees, Adapters, Reducers, 45°, 90° Elbows and 180° Return Bends are available in most styles and sizes.

The female expanded ends of the fittings are designed to mate with actual tube OD sizes and therefore may be used with various
wall thicknesses.
MF style = Male & Female
MM style = all Male
FF style = all Female
These styles are recommended for use in all welded or all brazed systems where a permanent and truly reliable assembly is required.
SF & SM style = Swivel This style combines a swivel flare type union with a female expanded end or male end depending on the fitting configuration. They provide for easy sub-assembly disconnects in a tube system. The standard connections are designed to mate with SAE 37°, JIC 37° and AN/MS 37° flare type fittings. Specials are available for 45° fittings.
TRULY TUBULAR BRAZETYTE® fittings are engineered for solder, weld, braze, or bond type connections to be
used in permanent assemblies or sub-assemblies. This type of system provides for maximum reliability.
WHY STAINLESS STEEL?
Its corrosion resistance and high strength characteristics afford advantages over many other materials. Stainless steel resists corrosion. It remains strong and ductile even at extreme temperature ranges. It has an attractive appearance and is well suited for architectural or mechanical applications where appearance and strength are required.
HOW TO SPECIFY BRAZETYTE® TUBE FITTINGS
NOMENCLATURE:
TRULY TUBULAR BRAZETYTE® fitting part numbers are constructed from symbols that identify the size and style of the fitting. The dash numbers indicate tube OD size by 1/16 inches, thus-4 means 4/16" or 1/4",-10 means 10/16" or 5/8", etc. The first series of numbers identifies the style or configuration of the fitting. The letters designate combinations of male, female, and swivel ends of the part. (see below).
